missfire/flat spot

98'impreza turbo engine prob.when accelarating hard engine pulls well for about 4-5 secs. then cuts out for 1/2 sec then goes again.If foot is kept hard down proccess just carries on.This happens at between 3000 and 5000 rpm after that doesn't feel too bad.When tootling about i can't fault it. Any ideas??

why too much bost. standard car! what's the cure?

probably is your boostsolenoid dirty, you should try to clean the hoses to the turbo and wastegate. If this doesn't fix te problem you probably have an air leak. I think you can find plenty of topic's on the subject fuelcut

I had that and my boost control valve had to be replaced... £300

good news ! fitted boost cont.valve jobs a good-un only cost me £25 though from local salvage yard.
