I have been running my UK Turbo MY98 with a K&N Induction kit since i bought it with no probs..Apart from the hot weather the car struggles a bit.

Ive just fitted the PPP ECU, would it be worth going back to the standard airbox with a uprated panel filter or leave the induction kit.

Anyone what the ECU was mapped for regards Induction....?

Prodrive will tell you the map was optomised for the standard induction system (airbox/panelfilter) - they argue that no aftermarket kit they tested has sufficient filtration to meet Subaru's specifications...saying that early PPP's(MY97?) included a RAMAIR replacement panel filter - not sure which PPP your ECU is from.
TSL have reported that the 'Green' panel filter flows more air than A.N.Other induction kits - so they market that.
I've run my 22B with induction kits and without many times - swapping over is a pretty quick job.
I've decided by the 'seat of my pants' dyno that:
a) Induction kit gives better top end...
b) at the expense of some low down torque...ON MY CAR!!
I run airbox/panel filter now as I prefer low end grunt.
The standard paper airfilter - if changed more frequently - performs as well as any other IMO, but note it will need more frequent changes to maintain top performance.
In all honesty though I think you won't have a 'problem' regardless of what you do. I certainly miss the noise the HKS RSK made

Oh and what exhaust system are you running? The ECU was 'optimised' for :
Standard downpipe
Decat centre section with resonator
big bore high-flow backbox.
Just FYG fella.
Rgds,
Chuck
(I say 'optimised' as the map is fairly generic in truth - it's compromised because it has to be marketable in different countries, different climates and for different fuel grades. It's good at what it does, but it isn't truely a optimal map for any one car IMHO)
