Whistling noise from back box after de-cat d/p

On MY00, Is it normal to have a kind of muted whistling noise (eh?) coming from back box even at tick over/low revs once d/p decatted? I can hear the turbo "whistle" inside the car now when driving as expected, but surely the turbo won't make a noise at tick over. I know the Prodrive box has a sort of whoosh at high revs due to internal pipe diameter, but at tick over/low revs I guess the gases are fairly slow. Is it the gas traveling through the d/p that is making the noise?
Any one else got open neck d/p, non res centre and PPP back box that can comment?
I can recommend the above to anyone wanting a "quiet in the car" full de-cat option. Then windows down , plant right foot when ever extreme aural violence is required.

The turbo will still make some noise at tickover - its still whizzing round ....
I have a full de-cat and I'd say theres some whistle, more as you increase the revs, as you say....
Best if you can compare it with someone elses for peace of mind I guess...

Cheers Mark. I heard a full de-cat scoobysport system and I didn't really notice the the same noise, I suppose due to it being a much louder back box than mine you will hear more engine rumble which will mask the higher pitched turbo whistle. Does this make sense?
