Question

This morning I noticed a very loud pop from the exhaust (fully decatted MY99). Started the car up after work and noticed that the car was hunting around quite badly for its idle speed. This got worse as I was driving the car home idling between 1.5k-2.5k. Took it very easy and the car was raising the revs quite significantly on each gear change.

When I arrive home turned off and started the car several times car starts to idle at 2.5k then drops to 1.5K and hunts around continually.

I presume this is a faulty/broken MAF sensor?

I guess this can be diagnosed with Delta dash, is anyone in the Brighton/Haywards Heath area who has Delta dash and can lend a hand for a few beers.

Any help suggestions thanks,

Nick

99% likely the MAF.
Drive very very carefully until checked out!
Hearing about the 'pop' and the fact that this seems to have come on quite suddenly (if it has ), then check to see that the MAF is still plugged in! Might be that simple...

Unhappy

Could be something as simple a split intercooler hose, though the MAF does sound most likely.

Thanks Nom and Dyney for your help. I'll check the intercooler hose when i get home. I have tried to order the MAF sensor but can't get one for 2 days. Anyone know where they have got them instock?

Thanks
