Giving it hell and...

Took a mate out in the STI today, and gave it hell in each gear, and shifting gears as fast as poss and dumping the clutch after each gear change. Changing from 3rd to 4th I noticed a slight slip of the clutch when I let the clutch fully out, probably for about 2 seconds. BTW the mate is around 20 stone
Mate said that it was because I was being a bit brutal with gear changes and that the revs were still in the power band, I told him that was the idea. This is the first time that I have noticed it slipping, and seems to be alright in full boost in top etc afterwards. Car is a Jap import STI 2 with full decat, the only thing that I have done recently is to change intermidiate and back box from Jap style to a H&S 2.5 inch pipe with 4.5 inch back box, (car pulls a lot better with H&S) and also tighten up the dump valve (blitZ) as the tickover was dropping to 500 RPM the settleing to 900 RPM after letting of boost. Now goes straight to 900 RPM, could it be that the boost pressure is still being held after changing gear???

How many miles has it done? My MY94 STI needed a new clutch after 68K miles. Just showing a bit of slip in top if I booted it at 60-70 mph. The clutch plate was just about worn to the rivets although the flywheel was still in good condition.

Its done 52K. I have booted it since in top, full boost, and going uphill, no sign of any slip at all.
It may be that the clutch did not have time to engage fully. Not sure as I have never had iot slip since. Fingers crossd, hopefully it ws me changing gear too quick, if thats possible.

Found out that this could be due to the Release Bearing being worn out, will wait and see if it gets worse, then replace the whole lot with an AP Organic, when I have some money left. Hopefully will not effect me too much next weekend at the 'Pod
