Dont think there's any difference with 5/6, they both have the dump valve bolted to the IC same as MY00.

Is there actually any difference between an Sti 5/6 Intercooler, and a MY00 std one

The core looks identical, the physical size is the same, the only difference I can see is the colour

Apparently there's a lower pressure drop of around 1-2PSI by those who've tried it. Whether it cools any better is doubtful.

If you're going to change it to another top-mount, get an STi 7/8 one. Bit more work to fit it, but much more effective...

Paul_M

I have an Sti5 Intercooler in my car now, along with a self made Intercooler Splitter

I have noticed a slight increase in boost, now im not sure if this is intercooler related (mine was a MY00) or wether its the cooler weather

Fitting the intercooler itself is a piece of pee if you get the matching mount brackets from the dismantlers. Slightly more hassle if you end up trying to adapt the existing mounts for the bigger I/C, but still eminently do-able.

The only thing remaining then is to enlarge the hole in the scoop liner to get air going across the full area of the core, and ideally get some more of the rubber gaiter to seal it all off.
