Where are the crank & cam sensor multiplugs?
#1
I had a nightmare day today. My STi V is still sick after my long running attempt to replace every sensor on the engine to solve the intermittent poor running and non starting problems. Recently I have managed, I think, to narrow it down to the crank sensor - it does sometimes flag up as faulty on delta dash. This is despite a new sensor being fitted not long ago. Anyway decided as the no starts are getting more common and it nearly stranded me the other day that I would just replace the cables from the crank sensor to the ecu with another pair. Fine for one of them but the other one has a resistance of 2.2K ohms and seems likely to be dodgy. Trouble is when I replaced that the car wouldn't run. I now see on the ravensbladeimpreza.com wiring diagram (I guess I should have looked better before soldering!) that the cam and crank sensors are interconnected at an intermediate multiplug and that I was bypassing the connection with my new cable. So at least I know why I was feeling distinctly sick earlier today but does anyone know where the multiplug where cam and crank sensors connect lives - I couldn't find it anywhere and am assuming it is buried on top of the engine somewhere. I'm guessing that all my problems are caused by this connector being dirty or corroded so if I can sort that out I'll be laughing, instead of crying. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
