James try a quarter of the price, mine cost me 25 quid
had to bu66er about with the connector tho, but it has been fine since I fitted it a few months ago
dont expect it to last anywhere near the 3 years or so an OE one lasts

you will usually find that the halfords ones are the same make as most aftermarket ones, just boxed as halfords. As they are such a large company (14th in the UK) they can use there power to get parts cheaper, hence the price. Dont always think more cost is better...

I think that something like 70% of the world's lambda sensors are made by bosch. They claim that all of them are made to the same standard... Who knows whether that's true or not?
I have heard that the Halfords ones aren't well suited to turbo applications due to heat. I'm not convinced about that given the above paragraph and assuming Halfords use repackaged Bosch sensors.
Would be nice to find some answers, as someone is making profit out of potentially cheap bits.

You have to be carful with halfords. There are alot of not very experienced lads working there as a store that size needs plenty of workers at minimum cost. Ask to either speak to the parts specialist, the ripspeed performance specialist or the main parts person.

The worrying thing was the guy that kindly told me about my GTi-R, and informed me "they don't make a turbo" in a very patronising manor in front of the rest of the staff wasn't a young 'no brainer' more of an older no it all 'no brainer'
Anyway, just done a search and amazingly Rob had posted the part no. and Halfords code for the o2 sensor(well done Rob).
I just rang and gave them the details.. The lad that answered the phone "can't work the parts computer" and took my number to ring me back
If anyone is interested the part no. is L300 and Halfords code is 180398

james,
the lambda sensors that halfords stock are in packaging branded "lumenition" (don't know who manufactures them)
the part no. you want is L300.
It is a standard 3 wire sensor.
i've had mine on for 3 months now, and it's still going ....
p.s i've got a lamdalink wired up, so i should be able to see if it gives up .
