i have read a little bit about this on S/N
have i got this OR is this just normal??
under the following conditions i get what i can only describe as an ABS type of judder on the clutch peddle
1. during very light engine braking
2. sometimes on a slow pull away (if there is such a thing with a scoob )
is this the dreaded cluch thing, if so what next.???
BTW the car has been like this for a while, i just thought it was normal (maybe it is)
Thanks
Steve

Clutch judder occurs mostly onn the classic cars IIRC, and is characterised as a vibration/unevenness when taking up the drive from rest WHEN THE CAR IS COLD. For some reason it goes when the engine is hot!
If yours is there all the time, you may find your clutch/release bearing near the end of it's life, or the clutch plate contaminated with oil etc.

just another one of the joys of impreza ownership m8. seems a particular problem on P1s, if I remember correctly.
many say a full-bore start will cure it. however, some may say it wil b*llox it altogether.
try it and see

I don't think the clutch judder applies only to classics - I have a MY02 which has it. It should definately only happen when cold though, and you really cannot mistake it for anything else! The car kangaroos around, the clutch pedal bounces and the noise is not pleasant.
All this 'cos you are trying to be gentle with the nice shiny car
Pulling away at 3k rpm seems to cure the problem though!

I panicked when i first got it on mine..first day after i got it, jumped in and it juddered from cold.
Immediately called my mate, who got his on the same day as me...same thing on his car..phew !!
As said in other posts....just the joys of owning a scoob.
Wouldn't worry about it unless you're getting it when warm too.

I've an MY02 and find it judders but mainly when I come out of work on an evening to go home through crawling traffic rather than in a morning when it's been cold overnight.
Someone at work with a forrester turbo had their clutch & flywheel changed under warranty on a service without asking about it - only found out it'd been done when he went to pick it up. Doubt that'd happen for my EU import...
