Question

My car has been hitting 1.8 bar over the last few months with consequent det and misfire. I thought it may have been the Blitz I added AFTER the car was remapped(Ecutek).Changed it back to the Scoobysport today and its still hitting 1.7 to 1.8 bar. I've also noticed a whistling sound from under the bonnet(on WOT) recently which I presume is a leaking DV. Could this cause the overboost?

ps target boost was 1.45 bar.

I would have thought if the DV was leaking you wouldn't make the target boost. Suspect it more likely to be with the boost control loop, leaking pipework(from turbo outlet to solenoid or from solenoid to actuator), malfunctioning solenoid(preventing pressure from reaching actuator and venting) or possibly the actuator diaphragm may have split which would also give a hissing sound and overboost.
Hope this is of some help.

Question

Hmm, when my Forge was leaking I lost boost, rather than gained it.

Don't take any risks and get it thoroughly checked over imo, particuarly with all this hot weather.
