as you should know i am putting an STi engine into a WRX and i have just noticed a problem (amoung many)

The STi doesnt come with the sensor in the uppipe like the WRX, so i have only one option.

i have a scoobysport twin dump downpipe and it has the cat on fire hole in it. now i got rid of this sensor, and the lambda one fits. I cant see any problem with the lambda sensor being after the turbo but i would like a second opinion.

is this gonna be OK???

Assuming Classic engine and car??

That is where the Lambda sensor is from about 95 on (not sure on exact date) but my 96 has it in the downpipe from standard.
Hence the hole in the downpipe you have.

As long as the wires reach or you can extend them should be fine IMHO..

Are you using the STi ECU?

problem (amoung many)
If the new engine is a newer one and not got coilpacks fitted...
make sure you fit your coil packs.. not sure if the bolt holes are there on the heads or not though?!

older ECU has four coilpacks and never ECU's only two.. etc..

Hoping you got that covered already..

yeah, i will be. i am tryting to figure out the wiring. im thinking along the lines of whatever sensors the WRX didnt have then i wont need with this engine. If i use the WRX loom then i am missing about 5 or so sensors that are present on the engine. should be fine with the WRX loom i hope.

going along the lines of it being a WRX EJ20 engine with the STi internals. not sure how im gonna wire up the TPS tho, different plugs an all that. plus im a few pipes e.t.c missing... gonna have to get me an STi to compare to...
