SMOKE FROM ENGINE!!!!!!

i was driving to work this morning doing about 30mph, the car was just getting to normal temp when i looked out the rear window i seen a load of blue smoke coming out.this happen for about 2 miles and then seemed to clear.
got in it this evening on the way home and there was no smoke at all, anybody know what might fo caused this to happen.... the car is a impreza turbo uk spec with bleed valve and piper airfilter and covered 120k with fssh.

Blue smoke is usually oil. Could be worn rings (cos the mileage is quite high) or maybe worn turbo bearings. I will stand corrected if need be!
