Question

I have an Impreza WRX 1993. It has a grinding sound while moving off slowly.

I just had my gearbox rebuilt. I had a brand new 1st., 3rd gear and clutch installed. Along with 5 quarts Redline Gear Oil 75W 90NS.

Upon trying the car, while moving off in 1st gear i'm hearing a grinding sound. This sound sounds like when you are in reverse and rolling down a hill and trying to move forward.

But when you accelerate it goes away. I then tried to move off in 2nd gear but i'm not hearing the noise, neither in 3rd, 4th, 5th and reverse.

What do you think is the problem.

I would greatly appreciate a response as soon as possible.

Question

Why do you say that, did you ever had that problem?

What would happen if you continue driving like that?
