Fitting a STI3 to a WRX. Will a scoobyECU do?
#1
im fitting an STi 3 engine to my WRX RA and have been told that i have got to get me a stage one chip otherwise the map in the WRX ECU doesnt match and will decrease the power of the STi engine.
is it worth me getting a scoobyECU? also, if i get me an EPROM editor to remap the chip is there anyway i can get ahold of different maps? i have heard of a program that can make maps from different sensors on the car and then you can d/l them to the ECU, anyone heard of this?

I can certainly do something for you Jon, but it would best to do it in the car rather than a "one size fits all" map which so far have been tailored to a standard spec, pre97 engine, td05 turbo, decat etc.
It would be possible to get the boost under ECU control again, check out fuelling etc.
The engine will however run pretty well as it is, boost control probably will be a way out to may overboost or not reach target.
Other options for custom mapping would be Power FC (various), Link (BR developments) or Microtech (Imprezive motorsport) all cost circa £1000 fitted and mapped and may be a bit too much for what you want.
I will also sort a diagram for the throttle sensor wiring.

all im worried about is that the air/fuel mixture could be to lean. the STi 3 may have forged pistons, but i still dont want to det.
seeing as i got an early ECU and the scoobyecu is only £60 i think that it could be the cheapest option...
