I wouldnt buy a new bloc from a dealer, way too expensive. I'd get one from a crashed scooby.

Stroker sounds good. I like strokers. Have one in my Evo, much better midrange, and forged internals enable you to run high boost

TODA is cheap, but crap! Wouldnt buy that.

Roger Clark (Leicester)do a 2.2 litre Stroker kit - should be good for at least 500bhp!... then again some of us are hoping for 500bhp from a 2 litre..thats when I get my car back again.....

Claudius

You need a 2.2 litre in the Evo... these cars are so damn slow!..

Went out in an EVO 7 the other day with 380bhp..... quite amusing.. I dont think I'll mod my Evo8! if I have to take it to 600bhp to see a real power difference on My Scoob..

Waiting to be flamed....

lol

I think it was the other way round for me - scooby (P1) felt slow so changed to an Evo plus its less likely to go pop

I trust a high power Evo a HELL of a lot more than a high power scooby

evos have steel blocks, imprezas have ally blocks. but then imprezas weigh roughly 140kg less (old shape).

With a closed deck, there is no reason why the evo is significnatly any stronger, but being able to take the heads off without removing the engine is a big advantage.

Scoobyboy, I would stay away from a 2.2 stroker kit. Toda use an offset ground 2.5 crank, as to get 2.2 from a 2.0 you need to over bore aswell and they dont require that. Not too keen on the quality personally (having seen pictures only I should add).

If you are keen to start again, then I echo the advice of speaking to mark@lateralperformance.co.uk

he has experience and knowledge of everything you will need to look in to when taking on a project such as this.
