Hi guys,

I pick up my STI 8 this week. She has a couple of dealer fit performance changes. A trust full exhaust system including downpipe and K&N induction kit. The trust apparently is a Jap performance part giving high power increase without the noise being too big. Im hoping this will put her up close to 300 BHP. Anyone got any comments on the trust system? Is this a reasonable BHP gain to expect. I decided not to go for the PPP upgrade due to money and also the mucking about with the ECU factor. I need this car to last me a while.
I have to say i didnt expect to see 30 BHP from an exhaust and induction kit but everyone on here seems to think its acheivable. If it is why isnt the PPP pack giving more power?

What do you guys reckon?

Oh and yes my waranttee is still valid for 3 years through the supplying dealer ( who has many many years experience selling scoobys and dealing with prodrive)

Gary,

as said above, watch out for dets but also carefully check you boost curve if you fit a de-cat DP. It's gonna overshoot like mad if you don't replace the 0.9 stk restrictor.

You can already size a 1.25mm to cool down the WG solenoid discharge effect on the total flow...

FYI my v.8 runs a 1.1mm with a 2.5' sport cat.
Cheers

I would say the Prodrive claims of 300bhp and 299Lbs of Torque on the MY03STi is a very conservetive fiqure Remapped with the Ecutek software, no Piggy back chip Ok, £2K to buy, but will add £1K to the second hand price of your Motor and it is warranteed 'Warranty is not just for Chritmas but for 3 years'

Mine is a STi7PPP if mine is 300Bhp(as claimed) driving the MY03 I'd say it's closer to 330+ and far more responsive. Sorry not a Technical answer, just an Opinion.

Not sure which trust system it is to be honest with you. All i know is that the dealer was selling it for around £700. I managed to get it as part of the deal so i didnt pay anything like that. As for the rest of the technical stuff you guys said im afraid it went straight over my head.
Are they a good manufacturer?

The PPP has to be mapped for application on any car, any fuel, any weather and for owners who may not look after their car as well as they should. That means they have to be slightly conservative, and as pointed out above it needs to keep the warranty in tact. Subaru aren't going to be happy warranting a car that runs close to the edge IMHO.

With a decat or sports cat system an STi with ECUTEK mapping can make 340 + bhp .

Nathan..

Thanks for the note Blachie.

What did she sound like? I would imagine it wouldnt be too loud due to Jap regulations. Is this correct?
