Hello all...

The next Mod I am planning is to get decat fitted.
I already have full exhaust system (Revolution) also Induction kit and dump valve.. Standard boost..

Will the decat make a big difference? Also what type of Bhp gain should I expect? Will it change driveablility?

I have also heard that it can cause boost spiking/Creep?

Any info welcomed also other people experiences..

Car is 93 wrx (import)

I would have thought that if you have a 'full' system, then you're already de-catted, I could obviously be wrong though, no issues when doing this, seeems to be done by everyone, mostly without issues!!
Enjoy!
Ron.

Decat means removing the cats from the exhaust system or fitting a system that doesn't have them to begin with so you don't exactly "fit" a decat. I don't know the Revolution system but you can always check with the supplier if it has cats or not.

The system I have only removes one of the cats.. It is the down pipe part I am on about fitting which removes other Cat...
This is what I mean by decatting sorry about any confusion.

Someone must have some info???

Revolution managed to get up to an extra 39 bhp when fitted with other mods and rolling roaded?! So it must make some difference?

Made a hell of a difference to my MY98 UK car (about 30bhp with full exhaust system, and a bit more on torque) Definitely worth it IMHO, (just gotta save pennies so I can get a remap for my STi V Type R B4 I can decat that as well!!)

Yeah makes a noticable difference, I have a 94wrx with HKS Hiper, i've had it with decat downpipe and without, it's more responsive lower down and revs better after the midrange.

I'd got used to it and when I changed back to the catted downpipe for the mot it was awfull and really noticable

Just my two cents....On my STi Type RA the boost gauge needle now hits warp speed in its hurry to spin round the gauge and now goes of the gauge (1.2 Bar+) but the only draw back to this is the standard ECU goes "bloody 'ell" and backs off the boost to 0.9, which it was running before the decat (so its off to the Chip shop). Torque, Acceleration and Driveability have improve ALOT though. Do it now....

The MY93 WRX only has one cat and thats in the down pipe..! the box after the downpipe is just a a resonator..
