IHI RHB 52 same as TD05?
#1
Hi,
Can get hold of an IHI turbo from a MY92 Legacy 2.0 Turbo marked with RHB 52 (GW) real cheap. Planning to place it in my UK my99 instead of the OE after converting it to front mount
Anyone who knows if this turbo is near the "famous" TD05 regarding behavior in spool-up etc?
Canīt find anything about it on the net.
Thanks
Roger

Roger, the turbo you are on about is the VF12/RHB 52. the reason you can get it cheap is because they arent very good for power, too small by far. it spools quite a bit quicker than the td05, but mid range and top end they arent a patch on the td05 at higher boost, the charge temps simply go to high and you loose power as a result.
a td05 can be had for Ģ150 in fine working order, well worth it.
hope this helps

Thanks both
John, I knew they had different manufactuars. Just wondered if they "behaved" in a similar way and/or had roughly the same map and capacity.
Ian, the answer i was looking for! You just saved me some cash!
