We keep hearing about the existence of tolerant testers... anyone know of any within a 20 miles or so radius of either C'ford or Colchester?

Yes, a very fair point. I've now amended my profile so that my email address is visible.

So if anyone can give me any pointers on the QT, it would be much appreciated.

Perhaps I should stress that I'm not necessarily looking for MOTers who can be "encouraged"; but more those who, for example, are prepared to experiment across the permitted rev range to get the best results rather than simply failing the car 'cos the emmissions were out of tolerance at, say, 2,500 rpm.
