Unhappy

When I put my foot to the floor in 4th & 5th gear my scoob starts accelerating then it jolts as if i've just changed gear and stops accelerating. It only does it when I floor the accelerator. Can anyone give any advice on what this might be please? I've been advised already that is could be the fuel pump or a problem with the clutch/gearbox.

Cheers

Sounds very much like classic fuel cut mate, this is caused by the boost level reaching a preset boost level on the ecu, the ecu gets a signal to say that the boost has reached 15psi (for example) and cuts fuel.
Have you decatted your exhaust recently?? upped your boost??

Cheers for your reply! I haven't done anything to the boost or de-catted at all. Any idea's on how serious the problem is, if it is what you mentioned above? As I said it only happens when the accelerator is right down in 5th, and it's like i've changed gear or lifted off the accelorator even though I haven't.

Cheers again

It shouldnt damage anything as that is what the fuel cut is there for, you really need to connect up a Boost gauge to see what boost level you are reaching.
The Fuel cut is basically an overboost safety measure, if your ecu senses that the boost is reching levels higher than programmed it cuts fuel as it may be that something is wrong (for example).
