What is involved in re-mapping and how much?
I have an sti v5 which is standard at the moment but i have just bought a scoobysport decat d/p, de cat centre , scoobysport back box, HKS air filter and forge atm dump valve. If i was to fit all of this i would need to get it re mapped?? Correct?? What is involved in this and how much does this cost?? Any info much appreciated. Thanks Gary
Depends on how much you want to spend but I would recommend that you get a remap especially with those modifications on a stiv5.
You can probably get the std ecu remapped for about 700 via the ecutek route, not sure on imports via this method though.
Another option would be aftermarket ecu's like Link, Gems, Motec etc.. This would range from 1.5k ish to about 3k. The choice is yours.
But would recommend you get some monitoring equipment like a AFR/Lambda gauge, knock detector and a boost gauge at minimum.
Thats my thought at 5:30 in the morning
Get a few more replies and see what others have done with theirs

Rob, Who is IIRC john banks?? What happens when you get it re mapped? It you want to put it back to normal if you decide to remove this stuff do have to get it remapped again? As you can see i know nothing about this. Cheers Gary
