Just got my STi typeR yesterday, and it is fantastic, although too quiet!!! What back-box would people recommend ( I want ear drum burstingly loud ouside the car)I am possibly looking at a Blitz, HKS Hiper, TSL Firestorm or a Hayward&Scott system. I am only looking for a BB atm, as I believ that I will not need to remap the ECU if I just change the backbox (I plan on a remap/link, but not yet, as my wallet is now a home for all the local moths!!)
Any ideas, ideally a comparison between the sounds etc!

Got exactly the same motor with a Scoobysport (H+S) backbox
on it.Nice growl but not too loud to be a pain on motorway
treks.

5 Type R, as I have not remapped/linked the car yet, I do not want a full system (yet), do you know if I buy the Nur Spec Backbox, If i can buy the other bits to make it Nur Spec R system?? Does it alter the smoothness of the car (as compared to my MY98 UK turbo, it outclasses it everywhere). I assume I am OK to change the backbox without a remap?

 

I just put a HKS Hiper on the standard DP on my RA, sounds quite loud, I think it's a bit too loud TBH

If you go Blitz NUR and get just a backbox you could always get a decat centre section to put on later, IIRC you can't buy the Blitz mid section separate, its the NUR R Spec that's the mid and back, I think you get a bung with this also.

I wouldn't mind chaning mine to a Blitz backbox and put my standard centre back on.
