Today i bought a (impreza) Magnex de-cat centre section.

I ordred the classic impreza type as its easier and cos alot of people on here state the centre's are the same!

However upon fitting the thing i found the magnet centre i had was at least 4 inches too small!

The friggin rubber mount was different too

I though i could mod the back box to reach but before it reched it hit the wishbone!

So have i got a classic impreza de-cat or something else?
Or
is everyone on here talking crap saying te centre are the same?

Ive now got a brand new magnex de-cat i cant use
Help

no we are probably wrong.

i offered mine up and it appeared to fit, but I never actually fitted it. Stevie on the other hand has said they added a 4" section to michael whites legacy which is a 90 jap car.

What year is it? I suspect their may be a change on the later 91-93 cars relative to the 90-91 cars. I think the Uk cars are only the later type.

Exhaust hanger has been mentioned, but again, looked the same on my car, which is a 94 uk legacy estate.

I think the hanger may be in the right location on a later UK car.
The first system I adapted for my own car ( 92 UK estate )came off an impreza, and I think the hanger was in the right place, but I had also cut out silencer boxes at the same time, so this may have made me not notice any differences.
Either way, even if the hanger is right, the exhaust will still be shorter. You can either lengthen the back box section, or the centre section. I welded in a section between the 2 flanges around the rear diff area to adjust the length to suit.
