Right,
I've been given a tip where there's a ppp chip going for a good price, I have a my00 with a full decat, a dawes set to 1bar, and a panel filter, that little lot somehow mangaged to get me 270bhp on the rollers recently, would it be safe to fit a prodrive ecu or not, I don't want an unreliable car, but if a bit more was a safe option, I could find the cash.
Your opinions would be gratefully apreciated.
Ron.

And, if I decided to get it, how would I know it from a standard one, and just out of interest, whats a ppp ecu worth these days??

The ECU has a pink label, as opposed to a green or black one.

Wink

Try and get hold of a Delta Dash and do a before and after. Although the PPP may need some time to settle-in aka an ECU reset but I guess you could do this before the DD run.

Haven't you got one of those crap MY00 ECUs so must be worth at least a try... If you don't want it, I'll have it for my old wreck

Mark,
yep, still got the original one, so the ppp could be a go-er, might have to go and spend some cash!!
Might even make some!
Cheers.

Ron,

I don't think it'll make much difference at all TBH! (with your setup). You could probably take the Dawes off, add the PPP ECU and you'll be about where you already are, but with the ECU able to take control of the boost if things go wrong, and it wants to go into "Limp Home Mode".

I personally don't think it would be worth it for you!

What would probably be a better move would be a custom EcuTek remap as that would make the most of the mods you have, but this comes in at (I think) £650 +VAT (or similar).

Ta,

Matt

Matt,
did you read the bit about it being cheap??? I might just buy it to make a quid!! or not!
I didn't think it'd do that much, cos it's already got 270, and i've seen ppp'd cars with decat only doing that.
Thanks anyway.
Ron.

You have to remember that PPP ECU's have been devalued by the EcuTek maps being available so unless you can pick it up really cheap, I wouldn't bother.....
