Exhast questions
#1
I'm thinking about going for a sportier exhaust for my MY02 but do the Pro Drive boxes produce any power improvements - or do any back boxes give any gains? BTW, the current box is still in great nick. I want something that sounds meaty but not overpowering on long motorway runs.
I can't afford to do the whole system, decat etc, so wonder if the bigger exhasts are for looks only?
Any suggestions?
:-)

Backbox only does a little bit for the very top end, but not a lot, power-wise - it's mainly sound & looks until something's done about the rest of the system.
For lots of motorway miles, the prodrive one is good, as is the APS (neither boom). The Remus is a very quiet option (sounds deeper/meatier than the standard but is almost as quiet). I think the Magnex is also a good alternative, and has the advantage of being one of the good value types .
Many of the other types can boom quite a bit on the motorway, so you need to be quite careful!

Hey Mike!
I've just got hold of a ScoobySport backbox (coupled to my Scoobysport Centre Section)
Makes one hell of a difference!!!
I was under the impression that you can't buy a Prodrive BAckbox on it's own..... it has to be part of PPP.
You can by a WRSport backbox from your dealer though.
Personally, I'd go for a Scoobysport
I drove 140 miles last night (mostly motorway 80mph to &*%mph )
Not too noisy either
Of course, you could always come and hear mine (we could also meet up somewhere)
Keep in touch mate
Dan
(PS will call you this week - need to pick your brains and mini-blag )

Have to agree with Dan, I,ve had Scoobysport backboxes on my MY00 and now my STi7. Sound is perfect, not too loud inside the car. The wife thinks it sounds awesome and refused to let me get a Blitz. I'm glad I listened.
