Question

Just wondering what noise level I can expect from my car.

MY95 Turbo with scorpion d/pipe and magnex centre(non-resonator) with 6x4 b/box (fooking loud to listen to)

As I said just wondering as I think there is a noise level at Castle Combe

Thanks

Neil

Shouldn't be any problems.
Believe it or not, that'd be down as one of the quiet ones...

I know of a guy in the states with the magnex backbox, non resonated centre, together with decat up and down pipes - and a sound meter! He got 98db at 20" straight from the tailpipe at 5000rpm (Car stood still in neutral). Most of the circuits, IIRC, measure at 1m, 45º which is likely to give a little less. Check with the circuit what their limit on tailpipe noise is, but I would imagine it will be a little over 100dB, and you would be OK

Standard 02WRX was only 78dB so 98 will sound loud relatively!

Dont know what noise limits are for MOT, but presume an MOT garage would know, with regards to Circuits, yes, they do have noise limits and they do get checked by the circuit owners, so may be worth checking the circuit first if in any doubts, otherwise its a wasted journey if refused to run due to high noise level, either that, or if you contact the Motorsport body www.msauk.org
as they might be able to advise you of a noise test official close to you, who could test your vehicle and give you a proper readout, that way you would know for sure, before attending a race circuit.

Thanks for the replys.

I don't think it will be a problem as I had the same exhaust on my last scooby but with a centre box.
