STi 8 - Cold start Misfire !
#1
Ok, so when starting from cold, the car starts up with a misfire, blows blue smoke out of the exhaust, then after a few seconds, clears and runs normally. It does not happen when very cold, like below zero on air temp, and is ok at temps above 10 deg. The engine compressions are fine, fuel pump ok, noi mixing of oil/water in engine. vehicle only just had its 1k service and the dealer is baffled [not surprisingly]. IMHO dont have a clue, as always, its too new for them to have any fixes.
Any ideas guy's??

My old MY96 was doing this... replaced the coil packs and it doesn't seem to do it anymore.. (I still start it on a damp morning waiting for it)......
Sounds electric related.. HT leads, wrong plug grade, faulty Coil...
I presume the 03's have the twin coil system? or have they gone back to coil packs??
Problem with the intermittent faults they never occur when the car is at the garage...
Blue smoke would indicate fuel not burn in the cylinder initally though...
