Had a little prob with my version 1 wrx. Drove it two days ago and it started perfectly first time. Today i tried to start it and i wouldnt start up.

Definately got petrol in it and the bat is fine as it was cranking. However it wouldnt fire. Just turning over without actually starting.

Any ideas guys?

I'd guess at one of the sensors... crank, cam or coolant..

There is two green and two black connectors under the dash board near the steering column.. usually taped back to the loom with blue tape..

Find the black two and connect them together and turn the ignition on and the check engine light will flash either an okay code.. one flash a second roughly or an error code.. 3 slow flashes and 2 fast for 32 for example.. you can then look the code up.. I shall email you the codes..
The green connectors do the test mode for the sensors and relays and things click under the engine bay with them connected and ignition on.. if you connect both green and black you can reset the ECU.. it is out lines in the stuff I shall email..

This is where I would start looking if it was my car anyway.

PS: Make sure you turn the immobiliser off first otherwise it doesn't work.

just out of interest, would a sensor just up and go wrong overnight for no apparent reason?

Might do yes..

As far as I see it they measure a voltage which is within certain boundaries and the sensor slowly gets nearer the edges of them and then outside and therefore no longer works etc..
Or just corrodes.. I am waffling now..

But Yes..
