Rear differential/Clutch pedal stuck halfway
#1
I've got a 98R scoob and last weekend tried a 0-60 timing - I did a high revs formula 1 style start-off and had the following dilema in the way of a metallic noise from the rear diff when the clutch was dumped. It gave the impression that the car was wheelspinning but an onlooking friend said that the car didn't wheelspin. Also when the clutch pedal was released it stuck half way up, this was later easily pulled back up to its normal position. The car was running fine and has been running normally since then, although I have'nt really given it a ragging since then as I don't want to make a possible problem worse.
Anybody out there have any ideas or experience of these problems?
PS Does anybody know where I can buy an Impreza workshop manual from?

dunno about the diff mate, hard to say. however, the clutch sticking is a common problem on scoobs, its happened to mine a lot, and many people have posted on here about their cars doing the same.
dont know for sure why it happens, but think the general guess is that its the heat of the engine bay when raggin it that causes the pedal to stick. never heard of any damage caused by it, just bl**dy annoying aint it
cheers

Fantastic way to **** your motor, you can't do full bore starts in a Scoob as it has to much traction.
Pull away then let the turbo do it's work.
