Anyone fancy a replacement clutch?
These are performance jobbies, rated too 400-450bhp on scoobies!
Daiken clutches @ £275 each inc VAT + £6 postage! You will have a choice between Organic and Ceramic, both at the same price. Price includes the plate, cover and release bearing.

do you have any more info such as part numbers?
I was looking at the daiken/exedy stuff the other day and there are a few different flavours available.

My Type R is going to need a new clutch some time soon.
I was thinking about an AP Organic, never heard of these ones, not that I know that much any way!
Is there any web sites etc where I can find out about them?
Any one else got one of these? Are they ok for every day use etc? Don't want one thats too sharp or gives you a stiff.............pedal

Alright m8 am potentially interested still as it were but wood really wana check out an unbiased review sumwhere b4 i diverted attention from the AP im getting fitted on Wednesday 
Any info gr8fully received & can take it from there (i just cant get used to this driving below 2500RPM

Any further info on these Clutches compared to the likes of AP & Helix etc... Could well be interested Paul, could you E-Mail me and let me know the difference between ceramic and organic?

So are the Exedy heavy duty STi replacement clutches, when I checked my Lateral Performance supplied unit it had exactly the same little "DK" trademark on it as my AP paddle clutch cover !!
I am told that one difference is the pressure plate pressure rating or leverage ratio however I measured everything I could get into with a micrometer and the spring plate was the same thickness as my original Ra clutch.............which also had the "DK" stamp and was quite happy running 400+ bhp !
Has anyone fitted one of these and given it some abuse yet ??

Marketing!!!Check out this link [WWW.daikinclutch.com.au/products.asp] and see who daikin supply!!Do you honestly think that apart from the box and the massive price hike that APs clutch is different??The only difference is that all the punters have been suckered by slick marketing and HYPE!

First of all, clutch "ratings" are not about BHP, they're about torque, or are we suggesting that your old STi clutch, capable of 400bhp, would happy on a 300bhp rally car, with 450ftlbs of torque ?
The Daikin/Exedy Corp' are one of the biggest manufacturers, and suppliers of clutches, and clutch parts, so it's hardly surprising that their logo is on the cover skins.
My original STi clutch started slipping when I got over 300ftlbs at PE (done 10k miles). I replaced it with the "up rated" STi 8mm clutch, which solved the problem. Both had the DK logo on, they certainly weren't the same clutch !!!!
With regard to building clutches with higher clamping pressures, well it's common practice. I think you'll find that Prodrive do the same for their GrpN cars.

My post relates to Andy's comments, infering that the clutch kit I sell, is just an "off the shelf" Daikin product. It is NOT.
I use the same clamping pressure cover on my own car, but with a paddle plate, and it's rated to 500ftlbs +. So far it's held up very well.
