Just changed my gearbox oil to castrol syntrax as recommedned by many of you lovley folks out there. Wow what a difference!
After about 50 miles of driving the box is silky smooth below 4K rpm and changes a lot better above that with none of the crunching i was getting before. Having said that i think most of my problems were down to the dealer not putting enough fluid in it on it's last service. When i checked the level it was almost off the bottom of the dip stick, thanks proven motor co!
Syntrax is the way forward, time to do the rear diff next i suppose.

thats why i changed mine and i had it serviced by Adams only 2500 miles ago. From now on I will check all the fluids after a service

Where's the best place to get hold of Syntrax, 'cos it's a tenner a litre at Halfords???

Got 4 litres delivered for £27 last weekend direct from Castrol.

You gotta phone the number and order as they dont do an
online service.

I got my RS 10/60W Engine oil from them too.

Didn't order it by phone though, just sent them an e-mail with my address/credit card details and it came two days later
