I have a 98 UK car with a broken gearbox

Will one out of another UK car 98 - 00 be the right one or is it more complicated than that ? have I got to have one specifically matched to my car coz of ratio's or diffs or whatnot ?!

Ive been offered an RB5, MY00 and several others, but dont know if I can just fit them and itll work, I dont want all 4 wheels spinning at different speeds !

If its got the same diffs in front (3.9, 4.1, or 4.44) and at the rear then it should be okay.

Any UK box will be a straight swap for a UK car, with the exception of a P1, but its really an STI anyway.
