Question

How does the Link ECU do away with the MAF sensor. Does it not need to meter the flow of incoming air?

Correct - the link is what is known as a speed / density system, and does not read the MAF at all.

The system calculates air flow from manifold pressure and inlet air temperature, with reference to look-up tables that correlate density to air temperature.

Inlet temp compensation is used where there is a temp sensor ie on JDM spec cars, if its not there ie UK spec then it uses a default.

Is the inlet temperature thing only on STis or Link Plus?
Still thinking of converting the JECS, but only with temp comp.
