PE phase 1 in STI ???

I bought STI 3 wagon. Previous owner said that the car was tuned by PE. I have power graph - 308 bhp and 273 lbs/ft - torque.
The car has BLITZ cone filter and T75 exhaust.
Power is higher than I expected. I think there must be PE Phase1. I red that PE uses piggiback comp. I have whole wiring loom out of the car (because I convert it to LHD now) and cant find any Unichip box etc. (except speed delimiter).
Question:
1) how I can reckognize if the car has some chip upgrade? Has somebody photos of this piggyback or PE phase 1 can be integrated in ECU box?
2) which is best way to control boost with PE phase 1? (red before that PE dont support boost control in stage 1) Apexi AVC R, Dawes etc?
