I Have a centre de-cat pipe on order for my MY02 WRX and I have heard that the sensor is a bitch to get off. Does anyone have any tips/advice before I accidentally **** it up.

Cheers

Unhappy

Is that the one on the up pipe,or down pipe,or mid section or is it the one in the back box?

The lad who took mine off says that it is important to take it out when it is cold(the censor and the zorst),he sprayed it with a hosepipe while it was on the ramp then sprayed some penatrating oil on it then had a cup of tea.
After his tea he took it off.........stiff but no probs.

He is a MOT inspector come mechanic so he is taking these things off all the time when replacing exhausts so he does know the score.

Now for the horror stories,he says he has taken a few out whithout the threads on(left in the lug)a few have sheared off,a couple have rounded the hexagons, and one came off with the welded lug attached, good luck.

PS dont check how much they are or you wont have it done.

Lightbulb

Mine came out fairly easy - spray with WD40 when warm, again when cool, take it out when cool, and all is well.
