Long Wait for my Link...!
#1
I've just taken the plunge and booked a full Link ECU package, only problem is they are soooooooo busy I've got to wait until the 15th March!!
Me and my bro. have booked a track day at the Llandow circuit on the 8th March and I don't think I'll beat him with my lowly 285bhp...he's got a 390bhp Tuscan Red Rose!!!
We'll have to book another track after the Link is installed!!
Also no noise limits at the Llandow circuit, 3 scoobies already booked and only £99 with bookatrack!!!

If it is BRD that is doing it then you will find it was worth the wait as Bob really does know his stuff. I had to wait a while until mine and Bobs schedules matched up and all I can say is that it was worth it in the end.

Dom,
You'll find Bob will be busy for a reason.....he's superb at what he does
I've been on 5 mapping sessions with Bob now (3 on my own car) and I'm still full of praise of his abilities, he keeps squeezing extra power out of my car when realistically i've done so little to the engine.
You wont regret it

I haven't actually spoken to Bob as I booked in with Branko, I am popping in to Ham to see Branko next week. Do they both do the mapping and if so should I ask for Bob to do it?
Only 51 days to go...!

Branko does mapping too, I would only let Bob map my car, just a preference thing tbh

Thanks John! I will sit back and enjoy the ride..can someone confirm how long the mapping takes? I guess the ECU change only take a couple of minutes, but have no idea on how long the rest will take.
Cheers

the change takes 10 mins roughly, depending on the year of your car.
older cars need a change to the map sensor.
Branko is perfectly capable of mapping, but i think bob will automatically be doing it anyway as he wont travel all that way to just drive the car.
Once installed there are initial set ups to do etc which can take a while, but you wont resent any minute of it due to the excitement.
The mapping will take wuite a while, you should give the whole process at least half a day, as there are a lot of zones to cover. many of them can be taken from a base map which has been done before on a similar car. This will then have to be checked zone by zone until bob is happy.
Think you will be amazed by the difference.
btw, dont worry so much about boost, you will not believe how much can be gained by perfecting the fuelling alone, then there is the timing, which again alone canblow you away.
In short you wont be dissapointed.

Thanks for all your replies.
Adam, thanks for explaining the day and can assure you I will be like a kid in a sweet shop!!!
Only another 50 days to go!
One last question is that at the moment I have a panel filter and was wondering if it was worth getting an induction kit before the mapping, I also have a full decat. exhaust.

Yes - get induction sorted before the map otherwise you'll have to get it remapped again. Saying that - give BR a call and see if they can fit one of their induction kits whilst you are down there, then do the mapping.
