What mods do you consider necessary to an impreza? IE Wheel Bearings, Engine Mountings..

Any cheap things that can be done?
Any other things?

Lowering the engine??

We run uprated engine mounts which are about £260 each and an uprated gearbox mount.

So expensive? What's so different - they must be steel

I fitted the MRT/STi gearbox mount recently - makes a noticeable difference....especially to NVH! Also got their engine mounts to try....soon

Steel isnt that expensive !!!!! Perhaps they are Titanium for light weight and strength... At that price, they would need to be.

I bought engine mounts on my mY2000, classic, by my dealer, from STI, they were very cheap :
Engine mount STI, price : 42 € each, see parts catalogue for the number.

wally is right the STI onews are quite cheap I will take some pics of the Prodrive mounts. However they look very much like the standard ones but that is because they are group N.

the STI engine mounts look like the standard ones, but compare those two and the difference is there in hardness of the rubber, the originals are movable, the STI ones are rock hard.
On the road it translate into less movement of the engine when shifting on high revs, it's personal taste but I like it.
You don't have that nervous chunk everytime you shift, and the car stays a little more stable on cornering and braking. The only minus point is a VERY LITTLE engine vibration when idling, but hey, you are driving an IMPREZA here and not a JUSTY !!!!
