I have just fitted my knocklink and have a couple of questions.

First, I have located the sensor on the inlet manifold, using a spare bolt hole close to where the I/C bracket is located on the nearside of the car.The area of metal provided by the bolt hole is less than the diameter of the metal section to the underside of the sensor - does this matter?

Second, is there a right and wrong way to connect the two wires from the knocklink to the sensor - I can't see any markings on the Bosch sensor to indicate but I'll ask the question.

Third, the first green light remains on with power - is this correct? The instructions suggest that all lights should remain off with power on?

I will be very grateful for any help here

Cheers

Justin

hi jjay,i had the same questions when fitting mine.

first of all you should re-locate the sensor onto the engine block itself rather than the inlet manifold.

also, it doesn't matter which way around the wires are, i have the brown wire to the right.

there should be a dim green light on at the bottom of the knocklink to indicate its on, the lights get brighter when it starts working.

Thanks for that. Any clues as to a suitable location on the block?

Cheers

when looking at the engine to the right between the intercooler and the back right hand side of the inlet manifold look down, you will be able to see where the gearbox meets the block.
in that area there is an unused bolt hole in the block.

can't remember the bolt size but thats where i have located mine and it works perfectly

hope this helps

jonny

Many thanks for your help on this. Looks like the I/C has to come off - maybe this is why I was scatching my head.
