Question

can anyone clarify if the centre diffs in my UK spec MY99 gearbox are pure mechanical or electronically controlled. Looking underneath it I noticed two electrical sensors(?) on the one side near the back of the gearbox. Are these for the diff control or maybe speed sensors for the speedo. If the latter why are there 2 ?

The sensors on the gearbox are neutral position switch and a reverse light switch.

The centre diff is a viscous diff

Out of curiosity what is the neutral switch for? Pretty uncommon on a manual car although it would be a great benefit if you want to fit remote starting
