de-cat with sti back box
#1
I have just finished making a de-cat down dipe with 3.5" pipe and an open neck will it be ok to run it with a straight through centre and an sti rear box rather than splashing out on a new back box

When you say OK, what do you mean?
I'd be more concerned with fitting the downpipe than wondering if it makes a difference with the backbox and centre.
When you improve the air-flow of the exhaust, you reduce the backpressure. I was warned by my Dealer that doing so may cause #3 cyclinder to overheat Same Dealer was more than happy to de-cat other cars, so go figure.
I run a TSL DP, TSL centre and an STI backbox. The backbox is more restrictive, so helps to minimise this reduction in backpressure. So I guess, yes it will be OK with the backbox and any risks in the reduction in backpressure will be minimised with that type of backbox.
