The display has given up on me , anybody else had this happen?
Do I need to brick it and buy another one or are these things fixable?

As with any such device it would depend on what's gone wrong - screen, resistor, etc.

Using PCLink may be cheaper if you have an old laptop knocking around. I find that the tuning module is better / easier for those day-to-day tweaks though...

Rob, sometimes the solder on the connecter block goes dry, and needs to be re-touched up. Try this.

Cool

Rob,

In addition 2 what every1 else is saying, it is possible you have mearly broken the ribbon cable Have you done a continuity test on the ribbon or alternatively tested the hand controller on someone elses ecu ? If not it would be a good place to start before taking the controller apart

Danny's suggestion is favourite, mine been going strong from day 1 but I must have resoldered those joints about six times now.

Take it apart and have a close look, bet some of them are fractured.
