Problems on P1 after fitting Forge VTA dump valve?
#1
Hi
I have a P1 and fitted a Forge VTA dump valve. From 4,000-5,000 rpm I get a chatering noise, above 5,000 rpm I get a Whoosh noise. The problem is since having it fitted I have noticed the power does not kick in as hard around 4,000 rpm as it used to,sometimes i get a power lose as if lost some boost.I swapped it back to the standard one and the kick is back.I have fitted new gasket and i dont think there are any leaks.I have the right dump valve as i got it of TSL.
Any ideas?

You put the fault in the first line, fitted a VTA, that says it all as your car was designed to run a re-circ dv.
Some people say that changing the spring helps though, it could be that but if the original one works then carry on using it, it will keep your engine in one piece rather than make it faulty..... there's an old saying, "if its not broken, dont fix it" i think this applies here

A VTA screws the maf output on lift off causing it to run on the wrong part of the map ... fit a recirc with a red spring ... that should sort it and improve the gear change response over std.
