Dead...oh wait it started ????

Hi Guys and Gals,
Anyone here ever had problems with their Scooby not starting. It is not the battery as all the lights etc come on and better yet the car starts after a few goes...but, sometimes I get in the car, push in the clutch (all the way till its mashed to the ground, JDM STi-7) and turn the key and everything is just dead, nothing happens. But if I just pop the clutch in and out a few times eventually POW! it fires up. I think whatever sensor that picks up of clutch is engaged etc for starting is malfunctioning ?? any other thoughts ??
Cheers,
Ray

Razor, I think the US guys can confirm this, but almost all manual cars in the States have an isolation switch on the clutch that prevents starting before the pedal is fully pressed. I remember, now, the weird feeling, i used to get every time i was turning the ignition and nothing was happenning on my CRX, back then.
Faulty switch ??
