Question

Hello all,got a problem, water leaking from the front end of my engine, looks like it's the water pump gasket but i'm not sure if it is even the water pump, can anyone shed any light where the pump is located, water seems to be leaking on the near side right beside the sump, any one had this problem before and how difficult to repair, any help would be most appreciated.

cheers

the bat.

Would suggest a better look first, as there is a metal water pipe that drops down that side of the engine, which joins via a rubber section, onto the water pump. "might" be the rubber section splitting, corroded metal pipe, or at worst, water pump. Dont normally hear of the gasket failing, unles it has been removed in the past and not replaced. If water pump has to come off, then its time for the timing belt to be removed and also the belt covers, just to get to water pump retaining bolts.

I also doubt its the pump, I would thoroughly check all the pipes etc first.
The water pump is a bit of a hassle to remove. Id also try some radweld or similar first...but then, I can be lazy.
