Has anyone got one? Im thinking about changing my exhaust system and im looking at the Blitz, HKS, Firestorm and Trust. I know everyone argues which is the best one but no one ever says Trust! lol

Dont think HKS cause i dont like the way it points to the side.
Blitz sounds lovely but quite a few people have them.
Firestorm seems the new kit which is meant to be nice. Just looked at TSLs site but not 100% sure.
Trust exhaust looks nice but ive never known anyone to have one so dont know what it sounds like.

Just did the search button and looked at peoples ideas but nothing about Trust!

So anyone got any views on this? Or any other comments on the exhausts i said above?

Cheers in advance

I think people go for HKS and blitz e.t.c because they are tried and tested on the scoob.... but i cant imaging the trust one being any different to the other jap exhausts... I have a blitz nur spec on mine, and to be honest i would not consider any of the UK exhaust i.e firestorm, you have to ask your self how much development went into making them..

Im sticking japanese, i mean thats where the car was made..!

Cheers guys.

Good point Dan about the Jap point. So that narrows it down to Blitz or Trust.....

Is there no one out there with a Trust or shall i be the first one?

Money,

I remember looking in some old magazines a bit back and trust (greddy) are very respected in the exhaust department, and they come out top on build quality, design e.t.c

If you want i can post you the magazine so you can read up on it..! its not specifically for the scoob but it gives you an idea..

Email me your address and ill post it..! If i can find it.

A friend has the TRUST exhaust on his scoob and i can say it is very nice in looks and sound. In terms of quality TRUST is up there with the best so i wouldnt worry. No disrespect chaps to those who have HKS stuff on there car but in Japan they are meant to be a cheap-n-chearfull brand. Dont ask me why but they are. Brands like ARC, TRUST, APEXI and JUN are amongst the best out there.

On the exhaust front the only reason japs dont like blitz and HKS to much is because they are stainless steel..!! and they dont like the sound of them, thats why alot of jap exhaust are mild steel..... it gives them a less intrusive exhaust note.. thats what i heard anyway..

Thumbs up

I have a my 00 with an apexi power intake plus a full decat TRUST POWER EVO II including frontpipe.
the power difference compared to the stock garbage is phenomenal.
the built quality is superb,i fitted the whole thing myself and all the holes and bolts where at the right place.
according to jun japan this system is the most powerfull for the my99-00 wrx they dynoed it and it gave more than 35 bhp compared to stock.
i use mine with the silencer and the noise levels are quite acceptable for my liking, but this exhaust makes a lot more noise than say the h&s scoobyport one...
only one drawback guys the downpipe is 3in but neither open neck or twin pipe.
the reason for that is that the exhaust was designed with max bhp in mind not low down torque.
anyway my car though pulls very hard in any gear blw 3000rpm.i have 1.1bar at 2600-2700rpm in any gear.that made me wonder if all that downpipe design talk is bull****.
absolutelly reccomend it to all!

Cheers guys.

Blachie, i have a Scoobysport downpipe so was just looking at the Trust centre and backbox. Reading up about it though some mags say Blitz is better and others say Trust. Have you heard the Blitz and what do you think?

Finally someone who has Trust!!!!

You'll realize just how true the downpipe talk is Bachie, if you get a mappable ecu and attempt to tune the car to the mods you've installed, some work, some unfortunately don't.

i ll install a magnex downpipe and a h&s one really just to see if there is any diff to the trust one!
i believe that if there is any diff at all it will be below 3000rpm.
i have not seen the blitz one sorry.

Just one point i'd like to add after reading the thread.

'Dont think HKS cause i dont like the way it points to the side.'

And if you look under a car when its fitted you'll see why, its the straightest route out of the car.
The blitz exits straight but has quite a large bend behind the back box to make it do so. (im talking about the hiper here, not the dragger btw).

I've had 4 exhausts on my sti5 and on the rollers the hks recorded the highest figure though its hard to quantify properly as other mods were performed at the same time. Apexi and Greddy are arguably a little above hks (as some of there pricing shows) but one thing i have found is there is no hard and fast rules.

Blitz on evo for example doesnt boom and is about the straightest exahust you can get, not the case on scoob tho.

I fancy trying an apexi or 5zigen exhaust next just to be different, also the tanabe just came top (i think it was) in a japanese rolling road test.

My first downpipe was a hks one which i then changed to hayward and scott.

Just by looking at the openings you will surely realise the hks is restrictive as approx 50% of its surface area is 'blanked off' and won't let any gas through, forcing it through half the size!
Whereas the H+S one is much more open.
This was also backed up when the car was mapped, with the hks on we were limited by how much gas we could get out the car through the exhaust as it was being restricted by the downpipe.
Put on the H+S and we could flow much more gas than the limit already hit with the hks on.

Just quoting this as an example pf downpipes working and not working well.
