On my Sti 7 every now and again I get a petrol smell through the heating system. Anyone else get this or know what it is?

 

Could be leaky exhaust joints

 

How new/old is your STi7? For ages I got a horrible smell on mine. Turns out it was the stuff they sprayed onto the engine to stop sea-salt from affecting the cars on their transatlantic journey that was burning itself off and choking ma windpipe.

If you are sure its petrol go see your dealer NOW. I have had a car blow up on me as a result of petrol dripping out of the carb directly onto the exhaust manifold in the past (carbs, says how long ago this was). You don't get a lot of time to get out the car in one piece......
