CHECK ENGINE light.

MY00. Check Engine light came on last night 
Stopped engine, and will not reappear since.
Took car to dealers this morning to plug into diagnostics checker.
I was told that car was showing a fault with the "oxygen sensor in the exhaust", but as it was not a repeating fault, it has been cleared, and to keep an eye on it.
Common fault, or just a glitch in the system?

Had the same thing happen to my 00MY, on the way to service. Same fault as your's but my car has a full decat, of course they blamed that!! Was told the same as you, keep an eye on it.

I have a different BB, but apart from that the exhaust is standard, with both cats in.
Guess it would be difficult to claim on warranty, with a non-standard exhaust, if it appears again?

Hi guys,
I got a '92 wrx, and my check engine light has come on three times in the last two and a half months, for no apparent reason and with no noticeable difference in the engine after it has come on. I took it to local dealer who plugged it in and he told me it was the 02 sensor....and my car was running on a '94 ecu..... then opened the bonnet to find i havn't got one!!! Im getting the impression its some sort of glitch with ecu?? i dont know if mines been reprogrammed, if it has maybe thats got something to do with it??
