Ask Mark Aigin at Lateral Performance, you can find details in the Scoobynet "Online Shop".

I want my turbo spin at 2500 rpm and ends up at 7000 rpm. My wishes is also 300bhp. I can not feel power on low revs.

Keep on dreaming Mike! (300 BHP shouldn't be that difficult, but boost from 2.500 RPM......)

I can say the same I get 1bar in ~3000rpm in 5th with my VF30

Want a hybrid VF30... speak to Mark @ Lateral Performance.
I been discussing with him earlier and it was no problem.
But now I'm thinking of getting a tad bigger turbo

*lol*

So mr J...my little remark worked then?

Go hybrid fellas - it's so worth it - either that or a reworked TD05 which seems to be more work than money.

This I get from Mark (great guy by the way)

To be honest, the reason the turbo is laggy, is mainly due to the mapping/boost control.

The VF30 is able to spool 1 bar of boost by circa 3000rpm when this is right.

The VF30 already uses the P18 exhaust housing, and unless you change to the VF35, with the P15 housing, hybriding won't help.

So, first I would check that the Apexi AVC-R is set up correctly (sorry I can't help with it, but I don't know it).

If it is still a problem, check there are no air/exhaust leaks. If this is ok, and you want to keep the avc-r, instead of a full re-map, I would suggest trying an up rated adjustable actuator. This will make sure that the wastegate doesn't get blown open.

You would need to re set up the avc-r again.

Lastly, I would expect the VF30 to make 320bhp, but again, the ecu really needs to be re-mapped.

I would love to hybrid your turbo, but I just don't think this will solve your problem.

I must say, that 2000rpm, AND 320bhp is unrealistic. A good hybrid will produce 1 bar by circa 3000rpm, and give good power.

Try these things frst, and if you still have a problem, let me know, but there are people with VF30's getting 1bar by 3000rpm.

Today I tried the turbo VF30.
I set the Apeci AVC-R on 1.3 bar from 0 rpm to 7000 rpm. So the set up by the apexi will be correct, if you say the VF30 will get 1.0 bar at 3000 rpm.
In the 5th gear I have to tell you that the turbo gives only 0,7 - 0,8 bar on 3000 rpm. When it is over 3500 rpm then you feel the power of the turbo. I do not why i can not get 1 bar at 3000 rpm. I drive with a standard filter house so no induction kit, maybe this is the problem??
Shall I try an up rated adjustable actuator? Is it possible to put the TD04 actuator on a VF30?? Or it is not necessary to do that because i have a elctronic boostcontroller.

please ADVICE, ladies and gentlemen!!

Thanx Mike

Mike,

Ok, if you have set the boost controller up correctly, and made sure that you have no air leaks(hoses,DV, IC, etc'), or exhaust leaks pre turbo, you need to look at the mapping.

The fuelling, and ignition has a big effect on how the turbo will spool up. You told me that you have a Unichip, get the map checked in the lower RPM zones. It may be running too lean, and not producing much exhaust gas. The ignition could be too advanced.

There are some other tests that you can do, but you'd need to be VERY carful. One of these involves disconnecting the hose to the actuator, and another, wiring the wastegate shut !!!!

These tests will indicate where the problem lies, but if you decide to wire the WG shut, to check spool up, I suggest getting a friend to help you check boost, whilst you check RPM, and get ready to lift off, before the boost goes SKY HIGH !!!!

Mark.
