It is a metal coolant pipe, probably the one that runs from the water bottle on the top of the inlet manifold down under the inlet manifold to the thermostat housing. There are rubber joins in the pipe down in behind the timing belt cover, so that may be worth a look. ( from underneath with a torch )
Failing that, its a strange one.
Last time I built the engine for my car, when i filled it with water, there was water pissing out from that same area. Initially I thought ( well didnt really, but it was the only possibility I thought ) it was the water pump gasket, but after removing the pump, checking and re-sealing, it was exactly the same. All the pipes you point out are in good condition, as where the rubber jointing pipes. Mine wasnt just a dribble, but a leak. It really did look like that somehow the ( metal shim type ) head gaskets hadnt sealed properly, although I find it almost impossible to believe.
Not that i am recommending it, but 2 bottles of radweld fixed mine, coz I wasnt stripping the bloody engine again just to find it, as I needed transport. Its been fine ever since.
I know im rough, but i dont care
I am sort of convinced it was a head gasket leak though in my case.

Hi,
I have a coolant leak, and it seems to be seeping from the pipe shown, if not then it looks like its coming from the head gasket (i think) but I only had this done about 3 months ago, taking it in next week, but would just like to know, is this pipe a coolant pipe?
Thanks for any help,
Rob.

Thanks steve.
Yes, it is a metal pipe, the paint seems to be coming away from the underside of it so it could be corroded/split I suppose. Anyway, Ill leave it to the experts on tuesday.
Thanks again, Rob.
