Have just bought a 94 car which has a Mobil 1 history with it.It has always had 0/40 but i'm sure that I read somewhere that 15/50 Mobil Motorsport was better in older cars.I know this has probably been asked a thousand times before, but any advice would be appreciated.

i use 15/50 fully synthetic mobil motorsport, this is considered one of the best scooby oils along with motul 300v 15w/50 synthetic and castrol rs 10w/60 fully synth

ive read a few topics up on this site and most people recommend one of those 3, apparently the scoob needs a slightly thicker oil than some other turbos so 15 50 is good for the new as well as the old

Red face

ATC,
I take it you mean an MY94 Scoob?
If so then the oil that it was running (0w40) is far too thin for that engine and it could cause problems rather than solve them
The 15w50 motorsport is a good oil along with the Motul 300v 15w50 and castrol rs 10w60 oil.

we only use either SILKOLENE or MILLERS OILS products in all of our own/customers road and competition vehicles - never had any problems (though dont do MOBIL 1 anymore due to initial problems with these products!!!)
